I secretly DON'T want to tell you how great the tacos are at Ohio Tavern, more for me! Something different than my favorite classic meat-cilantro-onion tacos. Good cocktails and brews. Very tricky to find seating. We would love of they had an OUTDOOR patio seating area.

Fun suprise. The Diablo corn was fantastic. Also grabbed an order of the brisket nachos. Also really good. Was not able to finish the nachos. All while having a frosty beverage from the tap. Going to stop again really soon. Sat out on the sidewalk at a table. Side Street was not overly busy and was shaded.

Ohio Tavern might be one of the best kept secrets in Madison, but those who know will tell you it is fantastic. They have a huge array of beers and cocktails (like you'd expect any good bar to have). Where they stand out from the throng is their selection of tacos. They're not exactly cheap ($5 per taco or 3 for $13), but they are heaping tacos that you can easily make a meal of. They offer a wide set of choices that includes carnitas, chicken, beef, (shrimp and battered fish on Fridays), and a vegan lentil taco (called the Lenny). Parking is a bit tricky to find, but it's right off the Atwood bike path, so ride over and stay a while.

You'll be sorry if you miss out on hotdog🌭 brunch on Sundays. Sooooo good! I will definitely be back to try all the other flavor combinations and the tacos - which I've heard (and seen on Instagram) are equally amazing. Definitely recommend this spot! Cute little patio. Cash only.

The Ohio Tavern in Madison, WI. Their tacos, street corn and oysters were delicious! My favorite street corn is the Kona: crema, pineapple salsa, bacon and cilantro! Soooo good and unique. Oysters tasted fresh and I love the sauce that comes with it. And the tacos were all full of flavor.

Just went to the Grand Reopening on 3/31/26 and it was fantastic! Had all 3 of the Birria tacos and the Traveling Matt was the bomb!! Good atmosphere! Friendly welcoming staff who seem like they are having a good time working there on top of great service! I’ll be back.

Excellent tacos and a good tap beer selection. Patio and curbside seating available. On a Sunday night the menu was a little more sparse after a busy weekend.

I cannot even tell you how much we love this place! Their tacos are amazing! They are small unique combination tacos on corn tortillas. The unique flavor combinations in these tacos are delicious and memorable. And their Sunday hot dog brunch is just so much fun. Hot dog brunch and mimosas, what better way to spend a Sunday morning? The place has such a relaxed welcoming atmosphere and the staff is always so nice and friendly. It is just an absolutely perfect little local bar.
